Car Seat Issues

I know you're not supposed to put babies in their carriers on uneven surfaces...that's why I surrounded her with pillows! So I'm not a PERFECT mother, the word is out now! Morgan insisted on being buckled in and on my bed in the carrier to watch Noggin today! Some battles aren't worth fighting. Her hair's a mess - she won't let me put anything in it to keep it out of her eyes. And yes, her shoes are on the wrong feet...she gets it right most of the time!

Goody Bags, Schmoody Bags!

The boys have what's called AR at school, where they're required to read books and take a computerized test for comprehension in order to earn points. At the end of the year the kids that meet their goals all four quarters, get to participate in the AR party. So last month at my Bunco game night, a PTA member (and neighbor) asked if I'd be interested in helping with the AR party. I have committment issues (committment-phobe) and told her as much. Plus, I envisioned myself trying to do ANYTHING with a wild 2-year old...not a pretty mental picture! So she suggested that I could do it from home, and I told her she could pass my name along - but that I was not committing to ANYTHING. So then I get a call saying, "Oh, so-and-so, said you'd be willing to help out - GREAT!" So I agreed to take a look at her "TO DO" list. On that list was assembling goody bags - I thought, "Oh, ok, how hard can that be." Plus, I've really failed the boys this year by not partaking in many activities (not happy with the school administration, but that's an even longer story)...so I thought that this would at least make the kids proud and make me a not-so-lame mom. Boy, I must be STUPID! I then realized that they needed 500 goody bags! I thought, ok, I can do this. Well, the first night I stewed and stewed over the pre-organization of the assembly line. Finally after about 2 to 2 1/2 hours, I had completed 50 bags! Talk about discouragement! My back was killing me! So then my idea of whipping 100 out a night was canned! Tuesday night I tackled another 50 in about 2 hours. Wednesday night I was bound and determined and had an energy boost - I got 100 done! Wow! Woohoo! The feeling of 2oo bags down and 300 to go was encouraging! Thursday night was Bunco, so I took that nght off. I had it all figured out, I would pop another 100 out Friday night, and maybe get them finished sometime Saturday or Sunday (of Mother's Day weekend). Friday night, because of Morgan's late nap, I was up until 10PM WITH Morgan, so no bags were filled. On Saturday evening (somewhere between 7:00 and 7:30), I started setting up shop again. This time, Kolton came in and asked if he could help. I was totally thrilled at the idea of help, but didn't want him to feel like he had to - it was ME that got ME into this mess. He was determined to help me so that my Mother's Day wouldn't "suck" as he put it! Kaden took a picture of us shortly into the process. We finally finished after 11PM, but we put the remaning 300 goody bags together! Whew! What a good kid - he sure can be sweet when he wants to be!

Saturday, Saturday

So I'm not winning the "Mommy of the Year" award for letting them game all weekend - I gave up on that award a LONG time ago! We had a long Saturday out of the house and Morgan napped very briefly. She insisted we "nap" her in the seat so she could join bubbies. I was trying to keep her up until bedtime so she'd actually go down at a decent time.

This is what happened instead! I guess bubbies aren't all that interesting afterall!

Gamers

This is what my boys usually look like on weekends - that's the only time they get game priveleges...as long as they're getting along! Morgan decided to join them after her bath.

Morgan also insisted in wearing my headband - not the little girl ones I have, but MINE! And the arms extended is the "I see, I see" that always accompanies the camera!

Teddy Bear Tears

Jamie sent Morgan a Teddy Bear that has a zipper pocket - very cute! Kaden was real quick to give it to her as soon as she got up from her nap, so I'm not sure if the tears are from talking about Daddy or having a bear pushed on her upon waking up!

Another Day at the Pool

Another day in the 80's called for some cooling down. And for the record, I attempted to get her to leave that binky in the house - no go! Oh well, it kept her from drinking the grassy water.

Dancing with Dragon Tales

Ok, I remember when Dragon Tales first aired, back when the boys were young. I never thought I'd be reliving that, but I am! Morgan's favorite part of Dragon Tales is the song and dance between the two episodes. She will come running to me yelling, "Dance-A-Me, Dance-A-Me"...so I have to stop what I'm doing to go dance with her. It is the sweetest! I actually look forward to it daily, but don't tell her that.

Looking Cute

I barely got this before she started in about "I see, I see"...I am trying to get sneaky, but she always seems to catch me!

Mmmm, Cheerios!

This started out as a community bowl (one that she and I would share for breakfast) and quickly turned into all hers! Morgan did so good with it, she ate almost the entire bowl by herself!

Baby Car Seat

Morgan decided she needed to be buckled in the baby car seat most of the weekend. She insisted on being buckled in to watch TV and to sit in the kitchen!

After Morgan was finished, it was baby's turn. Later she insisted that Mommy carry it around following her wherever she went, and was not allowed to put it down. Mommy finally got tired and refused, which caused a tantrum...but eventually she got over it.

Sorry about the beeping in the video, I didn't realize the food was going to be ready as I was filming!
