Sweet, Rare Moment

As we adults were preparing to play some cards, Morgan came up with this book and was very persistent that Papa read it to her. We were so shocked that he actually pulled her up on his lap and opened the book! Papa is not much of a reader, so I needed to document this wonderful moment! Thank you, Papa, you are special!

Christmas from the Dickersons

Thank you Uncle Jason, Aunt Jeannie, Cole, Kelsey, and Ella!!! You guys are AWESOME!

Mess-free finger painting - YES!!

Christmas Is Finally HERE!!

My kids are EARLY risers, and Christmas was no exception. The boys asked us on Christmas Eve how early they could wake us up, and we told them 6AM. In the past, they've always been really good about waiting until 6 or 7AM...for some reason they were excited this year. A few minutes before 6AM Morgan and Kolton (fully dressed) came in and got us up. Kaden said he'd been awake since 5AM and Kolton said he'd been awake since 4AM...whose kids are these? I am NOT an early riser, if I can help it...Jamie does it just to get his workouts in. I think someone gave us the wrong kids in the hospital!!!

Morgan asked Santa for a kitchen and a Jeep - so here's what Santa brought her.

As she was playing with her kitchen she turned to Jamie and asked, "Where's my Jeep?" and he told her that Santa couldn't fit it in his sleigh!

As Morgan opened this one, she turned to Jamie and said, "Fit this on his sleigh?" She's so smart! The funny thing is that this is from Kolton!!

So was the guitar - we have a Rocker in the house, she's got ALL the moves!

Goofy Gamers!

Kaden loves anything NERF - this one is an automatic and my rear end seems to be a fun target for him...we'll see what Santa brings him next year.

Even Jamie enjoyed his Christmas gifts from the kids - yuppies love new ties!

Kolton just KNEW he was getting one of these - remote control insect!!

Kolton had so much fun playing with this in Target and again with a HUGE one in Pigeon Forge's Wonderworks...what a great gift.

Morgan just loves her kitchen, but she won't wear her apron...apparently the apron is only for REAL cooking with Mommy!

Morgan insisted on taking a nap in her new tent.

Christmas Dinner!!!
We had too much food for just the five of us, notice Morgan's only eating crackers. She wanted Dove chocolate candies so we bargained...one bite of ham = one chocolate square. She ate 3 of each! Every calorie counts, people!!!
Morgan's jewelry - so pretty.

Christmas Eve Cookies

Morgan helped me make spritz cookies for Santa...she's such good help. She takes every opportunity to put on her apron and help me out.

Morgan gave Jamie her "You want me to do what?" look when he asked her to smile!

Christmas with Grammy & Papa

Within 5 minutes of arriving, Papa was immersed in a game of chess with the boys.
MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm! Grammy makes the best breakfast - even Morgan eats for Grammy!!!

PRESENT TIME!!!
We decided to have our gift exchange early...it's always fun to open presents BEFORE Christmas.
Merry Christmas, Grammy!

Merry Christmas, Papa!

Morgan knew when Grammy & Papa were opening presents that there had to be ONE for her to open, too.

The boys were excited to open presents, too!

Lava Lamps and Wii Music are SOOOO cool!! The boys were in need of those lamps, their other ones died a while back.

Morgan got a little tea set in a whicker basket - we know a gift is a hit when we find Morgan sleeping with it!!!

School Christmas Party

Today Morgan and I went to help with Kaden's Christmas party and were able to crash Kolton's , too!

Here you see Morgan talking to Micah, one of the neighbor boys who she "loves"!
Morgan found the ice in the bottom of the drink bucket.
One of the shots I got of Kaden from across the room.
We snuck into Kolton's class and got a few shots - he loved having Morgan around, I think it got him some extra attention!
Here's Kolton with his buddies.
I caught him and this shot before he realized what I was doing and was able to push me away!

Morgan found a friend who also read a book to her...sucker!

Dancing and Cookies

Another peek into Morgan's daily dancing. You see how she reacts to my filming!

Morgan did help cut the cookies out (a little), but I didn't get any pictures - she was poking them and I had to keep getting on to her - which caused me to reroll and recut them! She LOVED getting to decorate them, though. I didn't get any frosting made, these little tubes were the best I could come up with at the last minute. I guess I'll have to make some or get some more for the next time around.

She might have had a little help with a few of them. The boys didn't care, they ate them anyway.

Basketball Entertainment

After Breakfast w/Santa, we had to get the boys to their basketball game. This is the first one this season that we've taken Morgan to. We came prepared - paper, pen, stickers, baby doll, snack, and the DS. As you can see this did help entertain her for a bit. By the second quarter she was in my lap asking for her jammies and saying she wanted to go home. It made for a very long second half, but we survived! Maybe she'll be a better spectator the more we expose her?

I attempted taking pictures of the game, but I still don't know how to work the camera for those events...then my battery ended up dying! I need to study my manual.

Breakfast with Santa

Santa came to visit our neighborhood community again this year. We actually got Morgan to go near him this year, but she would NOT take her coat off. She had to check him out from a short distance for a few minutes before she was ready to climb up on his lap. Santa was so patient talking about her baby for a bit before she very quietly told him what she wanted. I had to interpret, but it's progress from last year. So much for being EXCITED to see Santa!!

We even conned the boys into a picture with Santa. It was only afterwards that I realized we had pictures of Morgan & Santa and the boys & Santa, but not ALL the kids with Santa. Maybe next year?
