Highlights

Kolton came home Saturday after his hair cut saying he was going to get highlights! He said that his dad said he could. So I just (in Overfield fashion) explained to Jamie that highlights can cost a lot and that I'd be willing to go get a box and do it at home...if Kolton agreed. Jamie jumped right on board. So this morning (the first day of Fall Break for the kids) I woke up ready for my first project...highlights. Not bad, if I do say so myself! What do you all think? Kolton LOVES his new hairstyle and color! Whew!

Alas...highlights (and a happy client)!

Tennis, Morgan-style

Kevin's Visit

Kevin was kind enough to take Jamie in as family while he was up in Ohio, and we were thrilled to have him down here for a visit...even if he was in town for work. We fixed a brisket and just gabbed, had a great time. Morgan was attached to him from the second he walked in the door! She wouldn't talk to my friend at lunch, but she was all over this guy! Hahaha! Kevin has two daughters of his own, so it was a very natural bond between these two. Come back again, Kevin, and bring the family next time.

** Towards the end of the visit, Kevin wrote his phone number on a piece of paper and gave it to Morgan. When Jamie walked by her room at bedtime, he caught a glimpse of her placing it underneath her pillow! How cute is that? Morgan has her first crush on a country boy!

Congrats, boys, we're so proud of you!

The boys had their first karate belt test Saturday and were given an "exception" and were able to skip a belt and tested for the purple belt. We're so proud of them! Their hard work has really paid off. Sensei Vic was prepared to award the boys with orange belts, so he didn't have the two extra purple belts on hand, but he assured us they were ordered!

Morgan being pretty patient.

Morgan and Sarah Beth had a little bit of difficulty being quiet, but overall they did a great job!

Morgan chews gum by biting pieces off, chewing, then spitting them out.

Waiting for the results....

Very blurry, but Kolton being congratulated.

Kaden's congratulation.

Funny

I need to start off by saying that Morgan hates the smell of menthol. After a grueling leg workout on Tuesday I was still having trouble moving my legs this morning. So I lathered them up with Bengay and a little Biofreeze. I walked into the kitchen and found Morgan's shortalls unsnapped, and I bent down to snap them back. She immediately started sniffing and asking, "What's that smell, Mom?"...and I just started giggling. I asked her to sniff my legs and tell me if that was what she was talking about. She immediately said, "yep"...and I asked her if it was yummy and she said, "No, yucky!"

Little Gym Dance Day

Today was Morgan's second day for dance and she was extremely excited to go. She had no qualms about being without me, and I actually remembered my camera this time. I didn't capture all of the cute moments, but here's what I did get. Enjoy!

I missed the ballet walk - all the girls had their arms over their head and were walking on their tip-toes...it was so cute, I could kick myself! Here they're hopping.

Dancing Darling

Somebody loves her new ballet shoes and has started digging back into her dress up clothes.
Love Strawberry Shortcake, too!

Princess Morgan

After about 20 minutes and three or four hairstyles, here's what Morgan finally decided she wanted. Daddy thought this was just too cute, the excitement in his voice was so sweet.

Not wanting to stand still for the picture.
